June 11, 2018
The American Association of Crop Insurers (AACI), the Crop Insurance and Reinsurance Bureau (CIRB), the Crop Insurance Professionals Association (CIPA), the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA), the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA), and the National Crop Insurance Services (NCIS) responded in a joint statement to the introduction in the Senate of the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, otherwise known as the farm bill.
“We applaud the committee’s continued support of crop insurance, and we look forward to working with Chairman Roberts, Ranking Member Stabenow and the rest of the Committee to get a bipartisan farm bill with a strong crop insurance title across the finish line. Farmers and ranchers across the country count on crop insurance as their number one risk management tool. In the midst of a depressed farm economy, we are pleased to see that the Senate Agriculture Committee is committed to providing long-term certainty for our producers by introducing a bipartisan farm bill with a strong crop insurance title.”
